NORTH WILD TOUR A day dedicated to visit the island from South to North. Zanzibar is composed of distinct habitats: the east coast, with little rainfall, has a less luxuriant vegetation than the west coast and is substantially more arid. Most of trees are palms and baobabs. The center and the western section of the island are very green and lush, with many palms and banana trees, ficus, mahogany, rice paddies, spices and fruit trees. While the coast has suffered a major tourist development, the interior has remained authentic and you'll cross small villages with mud-houses placed in dense vegetation where the lifestyle has remained virtually unchanged. The excursion includes a visit to the Dhow building yard and to the site where the beautiful doors of Zanzibar are carved. You'll then reach Nungwi and spend sometime visiting the aquarium of sea turtles. Last you'll enjoy an apertiv at sunset on the beach of kendwa. duration: Full day cost: 60 usd inclusive of transportation and entrance ticket to the acquarium. |
